What we do
Members in the I-70/75 Development Association enjoy regular opportunities to forge relationships with the people who drive development in our region. They also share up-to-the-minute information, and learn from experts about issues, trends and programs affecting economic development in the Dayton community.
Our monthly breakfast meetings offer professional networking opportunities and rich content. Programs are presented by informative and engaging speakers such as business leaders, policy makers, financial experts, development specialists, innovators, entrepreneurs, government leaders and educators.
To maximize our outreach and impact on the community, we collaborate on projects and special events with government, industry, higher education, business development associations, professional associations, chambers of commerce and other networking groups.
We also sponsor joint meetings with other regional economic development associations, training seminars, special events and newsletters.
Members enjoy coming to I-70/75 events because the atmosphere is lively, friendly and fun.
Regional Economic Development Summit
The Dayton Region’s best attended and most diversified economic development event is the Regional Economic Development Summit. Planned and hosted every year since 2002 by the I-70/75 Development Association, the summit typically draws about 200 participants. The conference program features expert speakers who share their knowledge and views on the hottest development topics of the day. The I-70/75 Regional Economic Development Summit is also great for networking with peers, economic developers, government and community leaders and other stakeholders.
I-70/75 Development Association Scholarship Program
Every year, the association awards a $1,000 scholarship to a member or a member’s dependent student who is pursuing a university degree in public administration, urban affairs or business. The roots of the I-70/75 Development Association go back to early 1987 when representatives of six communities met and realized there was more to gain from cooperation than competition. In 1988 the “North I-70/75 Development Association” was incorporated, with members from 11 communities.By 1992, membership had expanded to 80 including many communities outside the northern part of the Dayton region, as well as professionals from nonprofit economic development organizations. In 1993, “North” was dropped from the name.
Today our membership has expanded to approximately 100 organizations with 125 members.
